Cookie policy
Exactly what this website stores in your browser, and why.
We keep this short because we use very little. We don't use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking tools, or social media pixels.
What we store
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| alayan_sid | Essential cookie | Keeps you signed in to the client portal or admin panel. Set only when you sign in. Secure, HttpOnly, not readable by scripts. | Until you sign out, or up to 14 days (12 hours for administrators) |
| alayan_pass | Essential cookie | Opens the private sample walkthrough for clients who booked a consultation. Set only on the thank-you page. Secure, HttpOnly. | Up to the access period shown (30 days by default) |
| alayan-cookie-notice | Browser storage | Remembers that you've seen the cookie notice, so it isn't shown again. | Until you clear your browser data |
| alayan-unit | Browser storage | Remembers whether you prefer feet or metres in the space program. | Until you clear your browser data |
| alayan-code | Browser storage (session) | Briefly holds an invitation code you typed before signing in, so you don't have to retype it. | Until you close the tab |
Essential cookies don't require consent because the site can't work without them, but we tell you about them anyway.
Third parties, only when you use them
- Stripe: when you pay by card, you're taken to Stripe's secure checkout page, which sets its own cookies for payment and fraud prevention. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Eventbrite: on an event page, if you choose Show ticket checkout, Eventbrite's checkout loads and may set its own cookies. It doesn't load unless you click. Ticket links to Eventbrite or Meetup take you to their websites, where their policies apply.
- YouTube: some articles include videos. Nothing loads from YouTube until you click Play video; the video then plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's privacy policy applies.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: if we turn on the robot check, Cloudflare runs a short check on the contact, booking, sign-up and newsletter forms. It doesn't use cookies for advertising. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Maps and calendar links: "Open in Maps" and "Add to Google Calendar" open Google's websites in a new tab.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie, you won't be able to use the client portal; the public pages still work.
