Refund Policy

This policy applies to payments made to Alayan Design-Build Inc. ("Alayan") through this website or as agreed in a written proposal. Prices are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

The general rule: 75% within 15 days

Where a refund is available, you can ask for 75% of the amount paid within 15 days of payment. The remaining 25% covers booking, administration and payment-processing costs. After 15 days, payments are non-refundable unless the sections below or your written proposal say otherwise. If Alayan cancels a service, you receive a full refund.

Design Style Assessment

Before you start: if you haven't started the assessment (submitted your project registration), you can ask for a 75% refund within 15 days of purchase.
After you start: once you've started or completed the assessment, the fee is non-refundable, because the service has been provided.
If we refund a purchase, access to an unfinished assessment ends. A completed Design Taste Profile stays saved to your project.
Access received with a free invitation code has no fee to refund.

Consultations

Cancel at least 48 hours before a paid consultation and within 15 days of payment for a 75% refund, or move it to a new time free of charge.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed appointments, are non-refundable. We'll offer one reschedule where we can.
If we cancel, you'll receive a full refund or a new time of your choice.

3D design review access

Payments that unlock 3D and 360° review can be refunded at 75% if you ask within 15 days of payment and before your 3D materials are available in your portal.
Once you can view them, the payment is non-refundable, except where your written proposal says otherwise.
If a payment is refunded, 3D and 360° review for that project is locked again.

Design and permit services

Fees, deposits and payment stages for design and permit work are set out in your written proposal or agreement, which takes precedence over this page. Unless your proposal says otherwise, a cancellation requested within 15 days of payment receives a 75% refund of the amount paid for work not yet started; fees for work already completed aren't refundable, and a deposit is applied to the work. Municipal permit fees are paid to the municipality and are governed by its rules. If we pay the permit fee on your behalf, the percentage administration fee set out in your proposal applies and isn't refundable once the application is submitted.

How to request a refund

Contact us with your name, the email used for payment and what the payment was for. We reply within 10 business days. Approved card refunds are returned to the original card through Stripe; banks usually take 5–10 business days to show the refund.
